Visus LLC and Streamlight partner to integrate language services with new Progress® Sitefinity® CMS.

Streamlight is a manufacturer of flashlights and accessories for law enforcement, military, and automotive plants with customers worldwide. The company needed to upgrade its CMS to eliminate numerous roadblocks like hard-coded widgets that made it challenging to update specific website areas. In addition, it wanted an improved language-translation tool that could support Streamlight’s multiple international distributors and customers. The company wanted to provide content and product collateral in a customer's native language.

Streamlight selected Visus LLC, a Progress Sitefinity partner, to help find a language translator that can be easily implemented with its current CMS. Visus LLC combined Sitefinity and the Lionbridge translator tool with its built-in connector in Sitefinity to do human and machine translations. The Sitefinity Lionbridge Connector integrates language and translation services with content creation and editing, providing a cohesive, user-friendly experience.

Additional Sitefinity implementations included a new site search integration and the ability to generate PDFs. The new site search allows international customers to search and produce PDFs in their native language.

With increased usability and no IT overhead, Streamlight's marketing team and system administrators now can update content easily and quickly. Since the backend database stores translated product information, descriptions, and specifications, international customers can find the information and product they need while search engines can crawl the site in the different local languages for SEO. Whether working in a warehouse or police station, Streamlight is now equipped with a website perfectly designed to provide its global customer base with the best possible digital experience.
